The Shocking Disappearance of Baby Kate
Did a father murder his infant daughter, or was it a tragic accident?
A beautiful baby girl named Katherine Shelbie Elizabeth Phillips was born on February 12, 2011, to Ariel Courtland and Sean Micheal Phillips. She was four and a half months old when her father drove away with her.
The baby was never seen again.
The new baby girl became known as baby Kate. A beautiful, healthy infant, with light brown hair, sparkling blue eyes, and a cleft chin. Her smile lit up the world.
Her father, Sean Phillips, never wanted her and needed her out of his life as soon as possible. The new baby was a problem, and he wanted her gone.
The Father
Sean Micheal Phillips, 23, already had an older daughter with Kate’s mother, Ariel, and did not want the financial burden of supporting another child. Phillips had a very stormy relationship with the baby’s mother. He also did not want his parents knowing he had fathered another child. He had told Ariel she needed to have an abortion. However, she sternly refused.
Phillips insisted she put up the baby for adoption. Ariel refused, leaving Phillips angry.
